Obituary for Phillip W. Lang

Phillip W. Lang
A Celebration of Life and Remembrance for Phillip W. Lang, age 81 years, of Enid, is 10:00 am, Monday, August 3, 2015 at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Vernon Lee and Chaplain Ron Stone will officiate. Burial will follow in New Hopedale Mennonite Cemetery, Meno, Oklahoma. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Phillip, son of Ernest and Minnie (Litschke) Lang, was born September 27, 1933 on their farm one mile south of Fairmont, Oklahoma, and he passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2015 in Enid. He attended Bellview School, one-half mile south of Fairmont, and then graduated from Garber High School in 1951. He attended Phillips University before being drafted into the United States Army, where he served in Germany and Austria from 1954 to 1956. After he returned home, he met the love of his life, Donnis Koehn, and they married July 23, 1961. Phil and Donnis lived in Hillsdale during the first 29 years of marriage. He was employed at Messenger Grain Company, doing maintenance and using his trucks to haul grain from the elevator and farmers’ bins to Enid. He also drove a daily bus route for Hillsdale School (and later for Kremlin after the districts consolidated), in addition to driving the bus to sports events. They moved to the Drummond community after leaving Hillsdale. They enjoyed 54 years together farming and raising cattle.
He is survived by his wife Donnis of the home in Enid; daughter Delena Hukle and husband Grant, of Mantachie, MS; brother Virgil Lang, of Fairmont, OK; and a host of cousins, family and friends.
Memorials may be made to Carter Hospice and The American Heart Association with Ladusau-Evans serving as custodian of the funds.
Condolences may be made and the service viewed online at www.ladusauevans.com.
