Leroy Wyssmann

The funeral service for Leroy L Wyssmann, age 82 will be held Monday, December 27, 2010 at 10:00 am at the St Paul’s Lutheran Church. Rev Kenneth Wade and Rev Scott Whittenburg will officiate. Burial will be in the St John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Covington, OK. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Leroy, also known as Lambert Wyssmann, was born March 29, 1928 in Fairmont, OK to Godfrey F and Anna (Schulze) Wyssmann and died December 22, 2010 in the Highland Park Manor. He

He served in the US Army, as a Corporal in the 79th AAA Gun Battalion, Fort Sheridan, Custer, MI. In August 1958 he married Dorothy Spillman.

He operated Wyssmann’s Custom Butchering in Covington, OK until 1976, and a butcher at Big Country Meat Market, from 1976-1996, and then at the Liquor Cabinet in sales from 1996 till retiring in February 2010.

He lived in the Covington area until 1976 and moved to Enid where he lived the remainder of his life. He was a member of the American Legion Post #4, and Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 66. He was a member of St Paul’s Lutheran Church. His hobbies were fishing and collecting coins.

Survivors include his children, Kevin Wyssmann of Gilbert, AZ, Devin Wyssmann of Breckinridge, OK and Jack Wyssmann of Texas; grandchildren, Andrew and Chelsea Beck of Queens Creek, AZ, Ana Wyssmann of Portland, OR, Bethany Wyssmann of Tempe, AZ, Leah Wyssmann of Gilbert, AZ and Luke Wyssmann of Gilbert, AZ; sister, Viola Gregg of Covington, OK and brother, Melvin Wyssmann of Haynesville, KS,

He was preceded in death by parents, brother, Walter Wyssmann; 4 sisters, Edna Bohlman, Ottilie Wyssmann,Erna Steinert and Renata Schweer.

Memorials may be made to St Paul’s Lutheran Church with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home as custodian of the funds. Condolences may be emailed to the family at ladusauevans@suddenlinkmail.com.
