Laverne Wyssmann

Services for LaVerne L. Wyssmann will be held Friday, March 3 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church at 2pm with Rev. Kenneth Wade officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

LaVerne was born June 3, 1928 in Fairmont, Oklahoma to Henry and Anna (Schroeder) Wyssmann. He attended grade school in Fairmont at Zion Lutheran and Bellevue schools then graduated from Garber High School in 1948. He served in the US Army 4th Division in Germany from 1950 - 1952 and was honorably discharged in 1956. He married Helen Joan Krey on September 5, 1954 making their home in Enid. LaVerne was a skilled woodworker employed by Long-Bell Lumber Company then at Vance Air Force Base by Serv-Air and Northrup before retiring in 1992.

LaVerne passed away at his home in Enid on February 28, 2017 after a short battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife Helen, daughter Sharon Edwards and husband David of Azle, Texas, son Gary of Edmond, daughter Susan Gentry and granddaughters Christi Gentry and Nicole Gentry of Edmond. He was preceded in death by his parents, Brothers Paul, Rudolph, Homer, and Earl and Sister Pauline.

Condolences may be left and services viewed at ladusauevans.com. Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran School with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
