The memorial service celebrating the life of Betty Jane Wykoff will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, April 18, 2011 at the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. Rev Keith Miller will officiate. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Betty Jane was daughter of Julius and Josephine Castonia Paul. She was born in Duluth, MN on February 27, 1921. A product of the Duluth School System, she attended elementary and junior high and graduated from Central High School. She graduated from Iowa State University, Ames, IA with a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics.
While serving an internship at University Hospital in Oklahoma City, she met James E Wykoff, DDS when she later married on August 20, 1943. When he was discharged from the Air Force, they made their first home in Cherokee, OK where their three daughters were born.
In 1951 they moved to Enid where Dr Wykoff established his practice and reared their daughters.
Betty Jane worked to improve education in the Enid Public School system when she was president of Monroe PTA, president of the Enid Council of Parents and Teachers Organization and served one term on the Enid Board of Education. She also was a member of the YWCA Board, Enid Branch of AAUW (American Association of University Women. She was active with the Camp Fire Girls American Association program and served in the nursery at the First Baptist Church.
AS the girls grew up, she returned to her professional career where she was on the faculty of the Bass School of Nursing. She was a member of the Oklahoma Dietetics Association, the American Dietetics Association while working for 17 years at St Mary’s Hospital as head of the Dietetics services. As an Adjunct Professor of OSU, she planned and implemented clinical studies for undergraduate majors nutrition.
After the death of her husband in 1997, she volunteered at Our Daily Bread, with the Catholic Charities, where she continued to serve her community.
She is survived by her daughters, Georgia Wykoff of Tulsa, Paula Craig and her husband Pat of Shreveport, LA, and Roberta Withers and her husband Larry of Oklahoma City. Her brother, Dr Roger Paul and wife Nancy of Tulsa, and three grandchildren, Preston Withers of Denver, CO, Madison Withers of New York City, NY and Kelsy Bacon and her husband Tom of Charleston, SC and numerous nephews and nieces.

We would like to thank Dr Matousek, and her caregiver over the past year, Terry Dennis for her compassion and loving nature. Also Michelle Lain who helped make her last days peaceful.
