A Celebration of Life for Ida L. Wuerflein, 91, of Enid will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, June 7, 2014 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Scott Whittenburg officiating. Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7PM Friday at the funeral Home.
Ida was born April 16, 1923 in Carrier, OK, the daughter of Otto and Dorothea Luckert Seifert and died in Enid, June 4, 2014. She was united in marriage to Herman L. Wuerflein, August 1, 1954 in Enid, OK and he preceded her in death November 29, 1984. Ida was a graduate of Carrier High School in 1941 and from Phillips University with a Degree in Education. She taught many years in various one room schools and then ended her teaching career in the Carrier School system. She was active in LWML and the Kremlin Home Culture Club. Ida enjoyed needlework, ceramics, and playing card games. In her earlier years she was member of different music groups. She will be remembered for always having a positive attitude even having many health issues.
Survivors include a daughter, Carol Garrett (Kenny) of Wichita, KS, three sons, Richard and James (Kathy) of Kremlin and David (Gina) of Weatherford, TX, eight grandchildren and one great grandson. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Bertha Jeske and a daughter-in-law, Teresa Wuerflein.
