Michael Dean Worthey died 20 August 2011 in Enid, Oklahoma at the age of 54. He was born on 7 June 1957 in Kansas City, Missouri to Harrell James Worthey and Juanita (Street) Worthey. “Mikey” spent his early years in the Kansas City area and moved with his family to Trenton, Missouri where he remained during his Junior and High School years. After high school Mike moved around and tried his hand in the oil fields, worked as a carpenter, joined the Army and became a crew chief on a Huey helicopter, then returned back to the oil field industry. He was employed by NCRA Refinery in McPherson, KS as a Senior Purchasing Agent. While working here in Oklahoma he met and married the love of his life Ms. Diane Meier Worthey of Enid, Oklahoma, they were married on July 3rd, 1994 at Pioneer Cove Marina. Mike and Diane established their home in Kaw City, Oklahoma which was his permanent residence until his death. Mike had many passions in life; he loved riding Harley-Davidson with Diane alongside on hers.. He enjoyed the outdoors, he was forever working on projects and had to stay busy. He loved water-sports, and spent many hours on Kaw Lake with family and friends.

But above all he loved his family and friends, he was always ready to help whenever and wherever he was needed whether it was building something, removing debris, or just a big hug, a smile and kind words to make you feel better. He had a big heart and helped anyone when needed. His largest passion however was best friend and wife Diane, for they are truly soul-mates. They did everything together, worked, played and traveled; he enjoyed their annual ship cruises to many exotic locations.

Michael Dean Worthey was preceded in death by his father and mother – Harrell and Juanita Worthey, his stepfather James Martin, his grandparents, and his beloved dog “Mandy”. He is survived by the love of his life and best friend Diane Meier Worthey of Kaw City, OK; father in law and mother in law Elroy and Ellen Jean Meier of Garber, OK; brother and sister in law Howard & Janice Worthey of Houma, LA; brother and sister in law Kenneth & Patricia Worthey of Houma, LA; Step-brother and Sister in law Mike & Betsy Martin of Kansas City, Mo; brother in law and sister in law Dennis & Darla Meier of Garber, OK; brother in law and sister in law Dan & Shannon Meier of Fort Bridger, WY; sister in law and brother in law Denise and Ron Mortiz of Enid OK; many nieces and nephews which he was a second dad to and his God daughter Jessica Rodrigue.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Garber, Oklahoma with Rev. Kenneth Wade officiating. Burial will follow in Garber Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
