Graveside services for Sonia Christine Winters, 49, Lucien will be Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the Cleo Springs Community Cemetery, Cleo Springs, OK. Pastor Wesley Peterman will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Christine was born August 20, 1963 in Arkansas City, KS, the daughter of Virgil and Frances Watson Winters and passed away on Friday, October 19, 2012 in Perry, OK. She was raised in Lucien, OK graduating from Covington High School with the Class of 1981. Christine then attended Platt College, receiving her Associates in Criminal Justice in 1990.
She was employed with Crabtree Correctional in Helena for many years, and at the time of her passing, was on medical leave. She was affiliated with the Lucien United Methodist Church and worked in foster care.
Survivors include her sons, Billy and Paul Winters of the residence; parents, Virgil Winters of Lucien, OK, Frances Winters of Enid, OK; brothers, Carl Winters of Enid, OK, Michael Winters of Kremlin, OK and Brian Winters of Lucien, OK; also surviving are several children Christine “adopted” and raised as her own.
Christine was preceded in death by her brother, James.
