Shirley Wilson

January 13, 1940 — October 31, 2020

Shirley Anne Wilson, age 80, of Enid, passed away Thursday, October 31, 2020 in Enid. Out of love and safety for the health of our family and friends, Shirley’s family will save our visitation, hugs, and personal greetings for you when it’s safe to do so in the future. Thank you for your prayers. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Shirley was born in Mannington, WV to Lovell and Eleanor (Ammons) Boord. She was raised in Mannington and received a Bachelor in Education from Fairmont State College in 1963, with a major in math and minor in French. She later received her Master’s in Mathematics from Texas Women’s University. She taught in Arkansas, Tulsa Public Schools, and Enid Public Schools. After retiring, she also substituted in Enid. She was an active member and a Deacon at Central Christian Church. She made many friends at church and while teaching. She enjoyed sitting on her porch and talking with her neighbors.

She is survived by one son, James Theron Wilson, III, of Dardanelle, AR; three grandchildren, Paisley Bista, of Nashville, TN; Ivy Wilson, of Bowling Green, KY; and Theron Wilson, who stays at home with his father; one great-grandson, Parker Binghun, from Nashville; and one sister, Carolyn Boord, of Tulsa, OK. Shirley is preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Maxine Wood and Judith Keith.

Memorials in Shirley’s name may be made to Central Christian Church with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
