Virginia Williams

August 28, 1922 — September 9, 2021

Virginia Bentley Williams, age 99, of Hot Springs Village, AR, passed away September 9, 2021. Virginia was born in Madison, WI. She was the daughter of Floyd Russell and Sarah Hazel Bentley. Virginia grew up in Madison and graduated from Madison Business College in 1941, and took a job with the Navy Department in Washington, DC. She attended National City Christian Church and had the great honor of introducing Eleanor Roosevelt in that historical DC church. It was on a church bus trip along Skyline Drive in Virginia that she met George Williams. Virginia and George were married July 7, 1946. Three months later they moved to Tonkawa, OK to help with the family business. In 1949, they moved to Ponca City, OK after George joined Continental Oil Co. Work transferred them to Houston in 1970. Virginia worked in each location often as an administrative assistant. Virginia and George retired to Hot Springs Village in 1982. She was a member of Village United Methodist Church. She enjoyed dancing, took up golf on arrival in Hot Springs Village, always had fun playing cards, Bingo and loved being with family and friends. Our sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend will be greatly missed.

Virginia’s loving husband, George, passed away in 1994. She was preceded in death by her sister, Marian Strutt and brother, Kendall Bentley. She is survived by her brother, Gordon Bentley and by three daughters, Lyn Johnson, Nancy Inselman and Sarah Riddles; five grandchildren: Cori Freeman, Cody Johnson, Kacy Gruber, Kevin Riddles and Kari Richey; two step grandsons: Travis Inselman and Chase Inselman; and six great grandsons: Luke, Leo, Scott and Micah Riddles and Colton and Carter Richey.

Memorials may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Society with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of funds.

A Celebration of her life will be at a later date. Her wishes were to be cremated. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
