Stephen M. Williams was born on May 5th, 1952 in Enid OK and went to be with the Lord on March 9th 2013. He was preceded in death by his father Gilbert (Dutch) Williams and his sister Carol Mounts. He is survived by his mother Bettie Williams, his Aunt and Uncle Cyril and Virginia Wright, his cousins Mike and Kelley Wright, Tim and Janet Wright and his nephew and niece Darren and Erinn Mounts. Stephen was a graduate of Northeastern State University with degrees in Music, Accounting and Biology. He served the citizens of Hughes County as a public health inspector. Stephen later partnered with his mother in an Enid real estate management business. Stephen faithfully served the Waukomis Christian Church for the last 15 years as church organist. Church members especially enjoyed and often requested Stephen to perform pieces by Bach. Despite Stephen’s ability to perform complicated works, his most beloved piece was the humble hymn “Mansion Over The Hilltop”. Those who knew him fondly remember his gentle spirit and uncommon musical talent.
A musical tribute to Stephen M. Williams will be held on March 24th at 3pm in the Waukomis Christian Church.
