Minnie Wilgus

September 14, 1924 — November 1, 2012

Funeral service for Minnie Roggow Wilgus (88) of Enid will be Monday, November 5, 2012 at 10:00 am at the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Breckinridge. Rev Travis Orr will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Minnie was born on September 14, 1924 on the Roggow Family farm north of Breckinridge, OK. She was the seventh child of eleven born to Reinhard and Ella (Schossow) Roggow. Minnie went to be with our Lord and Savior on November 1, 2012 “All Saints Day” at St Mary’s Regional Medical Center, where she had faithfully worked for 24 years as a LPN in ICU and then a volunteer in ICU for 15 years.

Minnie married Robert Wilgus on October 24, 1947. When they lived in California, Minnie went back to school and received her LPN degree in 1968. She worked for 5 years at a hospital in Santa Ana, CA. In 1972 Minnie and Bob moved back to Enid, OK. Bob passed away in June of 1973.

Minnie was always active in her church, Immanuel Lutheran Breckinridge, OK. She taught Sunday school for over 35 years, active in LWML, Fellowship League, Thrivent, and Bible classes. She was always willing to share the love of Jesus with anyone she met.

Minnie was also preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Bertha Loesch, Della Palmer and Hilda Roggow; three brothers, Bernhard, Herman and Erwin Roggow, one nephew Raymond Loesch.

Survivors include one sister, Bernice McCanless, Enid; three brothers, Wallace Roggow and wife Ladova, Victor Roggow, Gerald Roggow and wife Judy all of Breckinridge, 29 nieces and nephews and a number of great nieces and nephews. Aunt Minnie has a special place in her heart for all her nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church Parsonage Fund, Immanuel Lutheran Church Perpetual Cemetery Fund or St Mary’s Volunteer Scholarship Fund with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds. Condolences may be sent to www.ladusauevans.com.
