Funeral services for Bobby Dan Wiist age 70 of Hillsdale,OK will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Ladusau-Evans Chapel with Rev. Mike Nuthman officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillsdale Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Memorial may be given to the Hillsdale Cemetery Association with the funeral home custodian of the funds.
He was born November 22, 1939 in Clay County, Texas to Oscar and Emma B. Hussey Wiist and passed away early Friday at the Integris Bass Baptist Hospital after a short illness. He grew up on a farm and farmed most of his life. After retiring from farming he was a custodian at Hillside Christian Church in Amarillo, TX until retiring in 2009 and moved to Hillsdale, OK
He married Linda Webster Thorpe on September 8, 1973 in Amarillo, TX.
He is survived by his wife Linda of the home, daughter Beth Penland and her husband Kelly of Beaver, OK, sons David Thorpe and wife Gayla of Cedar Park, TX, Glen Thorpe and wife Cari of Hillsdale, OK, Richard Brian Thorpe and wife Gina of San Antonio, TX, a brother Billy and Loyce Wiist of Lakewood, CO, 10 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 2 on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
