A Celebration of Life for LaNell Juanita Whitman, age 88, of Enid, is 2:00 pm, Monday, July 23, 2018 at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home with Pastor Tony Hayes to serve as officiant. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
LaNell was born December 27, 1929 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to Elbert and Velva (Middleton) Evans, and passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2018 in Enid, with her family by her side.
She grew up in Wewoka and Cushing, Oklahoma. She married the love of her life, James “Pa” Whitman on July 23, 1965 in Enid. She and Pa enjoyed camping and fishing at Keystone Lake, but she treasured her whole family most of all. LaNell was a perfectionist. She came from a time when nothing was wasted, so she was a collector of many different things such as egg cartons, bars of soap, rocks and her very special Pillsbury Dough Boy’s and garden gnomes. Every little memento carried with it a very special memory to LaNell.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Elbert and Velva Evans; a son, Bobby Dalton; and five siblings.
LaNell is survived by her husband James “Pa” Whitman, of the home in Enid; three children, son Lloyd Dalton and wife Polly, of Milton, FL; son Eugene Dalton, of Las Vegas, NV; daughter, Denese Amsler and husband Jerry, of Enid; step-son Jimmy Allen Whitman and wife Vickie, of Boiser City, LA; step-daughter, Pat Jackson and husband Richard, of Enid; twenty-one grandchildren; numerous great and great-great grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Memorial contributions in LaNell’s name may be made to Hospice Circle of Love with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
