Conrad Wells

The funeral for Conrad Phillip Wells, 82 of Enid, will be at 2:00 p.m.,Thursday August 23, 2012 at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. Rev Susan Southall will officiate. Burial will follow at Enid Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Connie was born January 14, 1930 to Glenn and Florena (Hoffman) Wells in Long Beach, CA and died August 19, 2012 in Enid. He graduated from Enid High School and then attended Oklahoma State University. He worked at Cromwell’s for 20 years and then owned and operated Thorpe-Wells with

his wife for the following 20 years. He was a life member of Sons and Daughters of the Cherokee Strip Pioneers, charter member of the Grand National Quail club and a member of First United Methodist Church for over 50 years. He enjoyed boating, fishing, hunting and golf. He was also an avid follower of Plainsman and Pacer athletics. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Evelyn (Coyle) of the home; daughters, Jo Bliss of Los Angeles. CA, Susie Pruett and husband, Jimmie of Austin, TX and Kay Grey and husband Norman of Enid; brother Richard and wife Linda of Oklahoma City, sister Glenda Ream of Verdigris and sister-in-law, Yvonne Wells of Del City; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and relatives who affectionately called him "Poppy".

He was preceded in death by his son, Jeff Wells, his parents and his brother, Hal.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church with the funeral home serving as custodian of the funds. Condolences may be sent online to ladusauevans.com
