Funeral services for Wayne Leroy Morse, age 87, of Enid, will be 10:00 am, Thursday, October 31, 2024, at New Hope United Methodist Church with Reverend Hagen Jackson officiating. Burial in Alva Municipal Cemetery will follow at 2:00 pm. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.
Wayne was born September 9, 1937, in Hopeton, Oklahoma, the fourth of five children, to Ray and Pearl (Ikler) Morse, and passed away Saturday, October 26, 2024, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Wayne graduated from Dacoma High School in 1955, and attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University. He married Joan Paris on June 3, 1959, at the home of Joan’s parents in Dacoma, Oklahoma, and to this union three children were born, Kathy, Mike and Colleen. During his career, he worked for Farmers Co-ops in Carmen, Tonkawa, Buffalo, and Jet, Oklahoma, retiring as the manager in 1992. Wayne and Joan were members of New Hope United Methodist Church, where he was active in the church. He loved to garden, work in the yard, and spend time with his family. He loved watching sports of all kinds: football, basketball, baseball, and OU Women’s Softball.
He is preceded in death by his parents, three siblings; Donald Morse, Winifred Allen and Max Morse. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Joan Morse, of Enid; three children: Kathy Pearson and husband Joe, of Buffalo, OK; Mike Morse and wife Christine, of Enid; Colleen Epler and husband David, of Wichita Falls, TX; four granddaughters: Kaitlin Pearson, of Buffalo; Bailee Fields and husband Josh, of Wichita, KS; Christine Morse of Dallas, TX; Molly Morse of Tulsa, OK; brother, Charlie Morse, of El Paso, TX; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends. Millie, his beloved Dachshund, also survives him.
Memorial contributions in Wayne’s name may be made to New Hope United Methodist Church with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
