A Celebration of Life Service for Helen A. Warkentin age 86 of Enid will be 4:00 pm Friday at Emmanuel Enid with Pastor Wade Burleson officiating. A private burial will precede the service in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Helen was born December 04, 1931 in Enid to George and Eva Janzen Kroeker and passed away January 9, 2018 in St. Mary’s Hospital. She was raised in the Kremlin Community where she attended and graduated from Kremlin High School in 1949. She attended Tabor College. Helen married Melvin Warkentin on August 29, 1950 in Enid. She worked beside Melvin in their church ministries until they purchased the Enid Christian Bookstore in 1977. They enjoyed traveling and spending their winters in Arizona for a numbers of years. She was a member of Emmanuel Enid.
Survivors include her son Steve Warkentin and wife Lori, daughter Rita Janzen and husband Steve, grandchildren Andrew Janzen and wife Lynsey, Sarah Quinn and husband Adam, Benjamin Warkentin; great grandchildren, Eli, Owen, and Sadie and several other family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Wesley Kroeker and sister Alma Ediger, and granddaughter Hannah Janzen.
Memorials may be made to Tabor College-Golf Program or Assembly of God World Missions - Adam and Sarah Quinn Missionaries Reaching Universities and Hurting of Costa Rica with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of the funds.
