A Celebration of Life Service for Tacie Marie McKinnon Walser will be at Ladusau-Evans Chapel on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at 10:00 am with Rev’s Jim and Gail Edmison officiating. Burial will follow in the Enid Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Tacie was born in Enid, Oklahoma on July 5, 1937 to Earl and Florence McKinnon. She married Lowell Walser on June 11, 1960. Tacie was an active member of Bethany United Methodist Church where she was a member of the women’s circle, directed Bible School, played in the hand bell choir and led the Hanging of the Greens service for many years. She was an avid quilter belonging to many local and regional quilt guilds. She used her quilting talents to make gifts and items that benefited the church each year at their fundraising events. Tacie helped people select and create quilts of their own while working at the Quilting Parlor and Nifty Needle. Tacie lived in Enid for 78 years before moving to Kansas City to be close to her daughters. She passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 17, 2019, surrounded by family. Tacie was preceded in death by her husband Lowell, her brother Charles, her parents Earl and Florence McKinnon. She is survived by her sister Marilyn, her three daughters, Cheryl (Curt) Smith, Penni (Ken) Gordhamer and Julie (Mark) Richards, her eight grandchildren and six great- grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Monticello United Methodist Church in Shawnee, Kansas on Monday, July 19th at 6:00 pm.
Memorials may be made to the Kansas City Hospice House with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of the fund.
