The memorial service for Elwanda M Wages, age 74 will held Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at 10:00 am at the First Baptist Church. Rev Keith Miller will officiate. Cremation arrangements are made by Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Elwanda was born January 14, 1936 in Enid, OK to Joseph and Odessa (Maxey) Vogt and died July 3, 2010 at St Mary’s Regional Medical Center. She graduated from Enid High School in 1954.
She married Albert F Smith on July 6, 1954. He preceded her in death on December 4, 1995. She then married Alvin C Wages on December 27, 1991. He preceded her in death on April 26, 2006.
Elwanda worked at the Toledo Museum of Art for many years. She moved back to Enid in 1989 and started working at Bob’s Cone Corner until she retired.
Her activities included cake decorating, sewing clothes, crocheting and was a good cook. She was a loving mom, enjoyed babysitting and ceramics. She took in ironing, loved cats very much and loved McDonald’s Restaurant.
Survivors include three sons, Danny J Smith of Toledo, OH, Terry L Smith and wife Angela of Enid, Tim L Smith and wife Misty of Enid OK; three daughters Tracy L Smith Dally and husband Kevin of Burleson, TX, Tammy Smith of Enid, Trudy L Smith Johnson and husband Harold of Enid; seven grandsons and four granddaughters.
