Elsie Vette

The funeral service for Elsie Vette, age 94 will be held Friday, August 19, 2011 at 10:00 am at the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. Rev Eric Brown will officiate. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery.

Elsie was born on December 11, 1916 in Horton, KS to Joseph and Elsie Pommitt Semrad and died August 15, 2011 in Enid, OK. She moved to Oklahoma as a child.

On May 15, 1937 she married Lawrence Carl Vette. They farmed and raised cattle in the Lahoma-Carrier community until they moved to Enid in 1993. She was a homemaker and helped her husband with farm work. She was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church, Lahoma, OK.

She is survived by one son, Larry and his wife Deloris of The Villages, FL; one daughter, Linda and her husband Dale Hardgrove of The Villages, FL; two grandchildren, Lesa Hoofnagle of Lenexa, KS; Dean Vette of Montgomery, AL; five great grandchildren, Laura and Grant Hoofnagle, Amie, Katie, and Lacie Vette; two sisters, Ruby Wright of Poway, CA, and Helen Provine of Georgetown, TX; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence who died October 24, 2000; six brothers, Herbert, Herman, Elmer, Joe, Everett, and George; and one sister, Ruth Crozier.
