The service celebrating and honoring the Life for Lora Nadean Vencl 86, Garber, will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday March 1, 2022 at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Chapel with Reverend Don Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the White Cemetery, Hunter, Oklahoma under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Lora was born April 18, 1935 in Enid, Oklahoma to Perry and Viola (DeWitt) Rowe and went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 20, 2022 in Enid, Oklahoma. Lora spent her younger years in Enid attending school at Harrison Elementary until 1945 when her family moved to a farm near Garber. She attended Garber schools, where she was active in the Glee Club and Band, until her senior year. On July 20, 1952 she married Anton (Tony) Vencl at the Garber Christian Church, and then graduated from Fort Smith Arkansas High School in 1953 while Tony was stationed at Camp Chaffee. Lora then worked for Champlin Petroleum Co., Enid, from 1953 to 1955, when she became a mother and homemaker. She was a Mary Kay consultant for several years and was a member of the Good Cheer and Hunter Child Study Clubs. She was a longtime member of the Hunter Christian Church where she sang in the choir and played the piano and organ. In recent years she was a member of Hunter United Methodist Church. She performed in Enid Follies, Enid Gaslight theatre and played the piano for the Gaslight and the Ed Novy Polka Band. Along with being a devoted and loving wife and mother, she enjoyed dancing, music, and any activities involving her family, particularly delivering full course meals during wheat harvests, summer vacations in Colorado, and following her children’s and grandchildren’s activities at Hunter, Garber and Chisholm schools.
Lora is survived by her son Wendell (Judy) Vencl, Garber; daughter Cindy (Darren) Koehn, Enid; and son Greg (companion Terri Fincher) Vencl, Garber. Six grandchildren Candace (Chris) Dally, Enid; Daryn (Kristen) Vencl, Edmond; Jared Vencl, Tuscon, AZ; Chase (Sarah) Vencl, Bixby; Shae (Ashli) Williams, Fate, TX; and Hayden (Lindsey) Vencl, Broken Arrow. NIne great-grandchildren: Kendyl and Kannon Dally, Camden and Madison Vencl, Emmalyn and Barrett Vencl, Lexington Williams, and Fletcher and Crosby Vencl, and brother-in-law Bill Jackson. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Tony, parents, and a sister Donna Jackson.
