A Celebration of Life for Lorine Vatterodt, age 98, of Enid, is 2:00 pm, Friday, November 10, 2017 at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Reverend Vernon Lee will officiate with burial to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Lorine was born March24, 1919 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Grover and Georgia (Pearsoll) Leftwich, and passed away Monday, November 6, 2017 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
Lorine lived through the Great Depression and the Dust Bowl. She married George Carl Vatterodt April 30, 1936 in Winfield, Kansas. They made their home in Oklahoma City until moving to Enid in 1966. She and George had three children, Shirley Ann, Clara June, and Sharon Lois. Lorine was very involved with her children and grandchildren, and she especially loved animals, specifically dogs; poodles, Pomeranians, cocker spaniels, and shelties. She was an avid OU fan, she loved watching the OU Sooner Football games, but she loved all OU sports. Lorine was a member of the First Baptist Church of Enid.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Grover and Georgia Leftwich; her husband George Vatterodt; daughter Shirley Ann Goff; grandson Steven Siegfried; great-grandson Zachary Foltz; three brothers, and two sisters. She is survived by two daughters, Clara June Faulk of Enid; Sharon Lois Williams, of Enid; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; fourteen great-great grandchildren; two great-great-great grandchildren, as well as nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
Memorials in Lorine’s name may be made to the Enid SPCA or FurEver Friends with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
