Funeral service for Elvada M Van Hauen age 89 of Enid will be 2 pm Wednesday at the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Smith and Rev. Gail Edmison officiating. Burial will follow in the Covington Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
She was born March 18, 1925 near Douglas, OK to George and Mary Grace Overstreet Johnson and passed away early Monday, May 05, 2014 in The Commons Methodist Care Center. She attended and graduated from Douglas High School. On May 22, 1943, she married Henry “Bud” Van Hauen in Guthrie and he passed away in 1988 after 45 years. They lived in several towns in northwest Oklahoma including Covington, Marshall and Waukomis. Later in life, she worked for Raleigh Bicycle Plant in Enid and the Garber Nursing Home.
Elvada is survived by her children Wayne Van Hauen of Enid, Joyce Woolf of Magazine, Arkansas, Janet Fausett, George Van Hauen, and Earl Van Hauen all of Muskogee, OK, Judy Crider of Hennessey, Connie Williams of Lahoma, Mary Kruse of Hillsdale, Lois Shipley of Marshall and Lori Bostwick of Arkansas, 28 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son Thomas Van Hauen, a sister, and five brothers.
