The funeral service for Lynn D. Unruh, 74 year old Enid resident, will be held
Friday, February 4, 2011 at 10:00 am at the Central Christian Church. Burial will
be in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of
Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Lynn was born September 13, 1936 in Meno, OK to Lynn Floyd and Edna Mae
See Unruh and died January 31, 2011 in Enid.
He grew up and attended school in Jefferson, OK. After graduating he enlisted in
the Army Reserves and served for ten years. He moved to Hutchinson, KS and
started building homes on the side as he worked on the railroad. He soon
became one of Hutchinson’s largest builders building hundreds of homes there.
He married Betty Vice on September 3, 1960 in Wichita, KS and they were
married for 50 years. They moved to Enid in September 1986 to be near his
grandchildren. He started Lynn Unruh Builders in 1963 and stayed active in the
construction business until his death. He was a lifetime member of the
Homebuilders Association since 1965, past president many times and a
member of the Enid’s Moose Lodge.
His hobbies include quail hunting, jet skiing, poker, domino games, sports and
fishing. He was a member of Central Christian Church. He was a man of
generosity, integrity and dedication to his family.
Survivors include his wife, Betty of the home, one daughter, Kim Ann Welker and
husband Chuck of Kremlin, OK; one brother, Darrell Unruh and wife Joyce of
Hennessey, OK; one sister, Rosalee Jones of Wickenburg, AZ; two
grandchildren, Brandi Schieber and husband Russell of Kremlin, OK, Dustin and
Tori Welker of Claremore, OK; two great grandchildren, Kinason Schieber, Adali
Welker, numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials may be made to the Central Christian Church or the Enid Moose
