A Celebration of life for Betty Ann Underwood, age 85 years, of Enid, is 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 16, 2016 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Pastor Kenneth Wade will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Betty was born September 28, 1930 in Drummond, Oklahoma to Joe and Eliza (Hansen) Goeller. She passed away Thursday, January 14, 2016.
Betty and Harry met in 1945 when she was working where Goldspot Dairy is now and were married July 8, 1946 in Enid. They were married for 55 years. While living in Enid she was employed by Goldspot Dairy, J.C. Penney, and Bob’s Cone Corner, “home of the lumberjack.” She and Harry moved to Marlow, Oklahoma in 1999 where she worked for Taylor’s Restaurant. In 2000, they moved to Lyles, Tennessee, where she worked for Dollar General. Betty returned home to Enid in July 2015. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, and loved serving her customers at Bob’s Cone Corner.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Harry Manuel Underwood; four brothers, Ronnie, Chester, Joseph, and Earl Goeller; one sister, Lillian McGee, and one grandson, James Underwood.
Betty is survived by her children, Butch Underwood and wife Sandy of Enid; David Underwood and wife Darla, of Marlow, OK; Billy Underwood and wife Teresa, of Enid; Debbie Goff and husband Doug, of Clarksville, TN; Jerry Underwood and wife Kim, of Old Hickory, TN; Mark Underwood of Atoka, OK; Todd and Tiffany Underwood, of Lyles, TN;
twenty grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren with one more great-granddaughter coming in June 2016; and two great-great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made in Betty’s name to the Wounded Warrior Project with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
