A Celebration of Life Service for Dr. Samuel W. Tucker, DDS age 67 of Enid will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at the Ladusau-Evans Chapel with Rev. Brad Mendenhall officiating. The family will receive friends Monday, October 12 from 5:00 to 6:00 pm at the funeral home. Cremation and Services are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Sam was born January 5, 1948 in Enid, OK to Walter G. and Nellie M. Boyd Tucker and passed away Friday, October 9, 2015 at Integris Bass Baptist Hospital. He grew up in Jet, OK where he attended and graduated from Jet High School in 1966. Sam was part of the Jet 1962 State Championship football team. Sam attended Oklahoma State University for one year. He moved to Alva and attended Northwestern State University graduating in 1970. He married Danette Reneau in March of 1969. He joined the Army National Guard and was stationed in Ft. Carson, CO. He moved to Farmers Branch, TX to attend Baylor Dental School graduating in 1974. He practiced in Dallas for 2 years before moving to Enid in 1976 to open his own practice until 1996. He married Nancy Moormann in 1995. Sam was a wonderful father whom he cherished his children Matt and Heather.
As a young child Sam enjoyed putting plastic model cars together. His meticulous hand work helped him later in his dentistry work. Sam enjoyed spending time at Grand Lake with family and friends and going to Colorado to snow ski. His favorite spot to vacation was Laguna Beach, CA where he recently spent with his family. He enjoyed restoring old cars and loved Corvettes. Sam had a magnetic personality which made everyone feel comfortable around him. He had a great sense of humor.
Sam is survived by his wife Nancy of the home, son Matt and wife Angie Tucker of Leawood, KS, daughter Heather Tucker and fiancé’ Kenton Boevers of Edmond, brother W.G. Tucker, II and his wife Pamela of Jet, OK, grandchildren; Max, Molly, Grace, Lily and Ella, and several other family, friends and his loveable dogs Katy and Peyton.
Sam was a fun loving, kind, and generous husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be missed, missed, missed by all who knew him.
Memorials may be made to the Jet Methodist Church or Enid SPCA with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of the funds.
