Dennis Treat

April 10, 1935 — September 12, 2012

Funeral services for Pastor Dennis Treat age 77 of Enid will be held 2 pm Monday, September 17, 2012 at the Emmanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Wade Burleson officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Dennis passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at the Golden Oaks Nursing Center after a battle with cancer.

Born April 10, 1935 in Talihina, OK to Carl P. Treat and Sylvia M. Trowbridge, Dennis was a man of strong faith. He graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University in 1963 and later the Southwestern Theological Seminary in 1967. Soon after graduation he and his family served as missionaries in Uruguay for 14 years. He later served as chaplain at Bass Baptist Hospital and as the minister of Grace Mennonite Church. Full of charm and a strong sense of humor, Dennis was known as a man of God, who continued to be involved with missions, and served as a community leader touching the lives of whoever he met. Dennis will be missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.

He is survived by his wife Loretta, his children; Mark Treat of Enid, Mike Malone of Denver, CO, Jan Hein of Oklahoma City, Patrick Malone and his wife Susan of Castle Rock, CO, six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, two sisters, Pat Brever and Wanda Howland both of Oklahoma City and numerous other family members.

Dennis was preceded in death by parents, his son Terry, a brother Jimmy Treat,his daughter-in-law Pam Treat and sister, JUdy Blancett.

In lieu of flowers, he requested that people give to the Dennis Treat Mission Fund at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of the funds.
