The funeral service for Ronald G Toews, age 66 will be held Thursday, July 14, 2011 at 10:00 am at the Emmanuel Baptist Church. Rev Wade Burleson will officiate. Burial will be in the Enid Mennonite Brethren Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 13, 2011 from 6:30 – 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Ronnie was born January 4, 1945 in Enid, OK to George and Mabel Toews and died at his home, July 10, 2011. He attended Pleasant-Vale and graduated from Kremlin High School and Enid Business College.
He married Neva Freese on May 28, 1966 in Garber, OK.
He loved hunting, long range shooting, music, reading and writing and photography. He loved taking pictures of guns and geese and enjoyed fishing with his family and friends. He was a member of the Enid Arts Association. He worked as a photographer and at Vance AFB as an aircraft mechanic and Egress specialist. He wrote a top-selling book, Contemporary American Stockmakers and was currently working on an article for Gun Digest.
He is survived by his wife Neva; son, Mark Toews; daughters, Teresa Summers and Rhonda Brittain; 8 grandchildren; one great grandchild; parents, George and Mabel Toews and brother, Wilferd Toews.
