Carol was born August 6, 1938, to Ernst C. and Wanda (Wilmot) Helberg of Breckinridge, Oklahoma. She is survived by son, Christopher Thompson, daughter Paige Faust, grandchildren Ryan, Tori, and Tylor, and sister Beverly Hull.
The Helberg family lived in Breckinridge until 1942 then moved to Douglas, Oklahoma. In 1945 Ernst and Wanda moved their family to Fairmont, Oklahoma, where Carol and her siblings attend Zion Lutheran School. In August 1951, the family moved to Wichita, Kanas. In March of 1957, Carol and her sisters, Beverly and Janet, moved to Inglewood California. Their father gave them a 1951 Plymouth to make the trip, even though none of them had driven a distance greater than 100 miles before. The sisters shared a great experience on the trip and within two weeks all three went to work for Douglas Aircraft in El Segundo, CA.
Carol later became a procurement specialist for the California State College System where she was known for her straightforward professional approach to all aspects of her chosen career. After retirement she moved to Big Fork, MT where she continued to pursue her hobbies that included golf and traveling. She had a broad range of friends and family across many states and stayed connected with a vast majority of family and friends from her youth in Oklahoma.
After a long illness she can finally rest in peace and will be laid to rest with the rest of her family in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Fairmont, Oklahoma.
Family will receive friends, Friday, November 18, 2022, 6-8pm at Ladusau-Evans Chapel. Memorials can be made to Zion Lutheran Cemetery-Fairmont with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home as custodians of the funds.
