The funeral service for Helen I Tharp, age 91 will be held Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at 2:00 pm at the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Rev Jim Edmison will officiate. Burial will be in the Enid Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Helen was born July 9, 1920 in Leedy, OK to Mark and Olivia LaBrue Conaway and died August 31, 2011 in Wichita, KS.
On April 28, 1951 she married Marion L O’Bleness. He passed away on September 18, 1979. On November 12, 1981 she married Paul E Tharp. He preceded her in death on April 20, 1998. She worked for the State School for over 20 years, retiring in April 1984.
Survivors include her daughter, Marian Smith and husband, Dwaine of Haysville, KS; step son, Darrell O’Bleness of Enid, OK; step daughters, Neva Cook and husband, Jim of Wellington, KS, Barbara Bowman of Medford, OK and Betty Gilbreath of Wellington, KS; grandchildren, Michelle Ramirez of Haysville, KS, Robyn Rutherford and husband Michael of Wichita, KS and Jason Smith and wife Kristie of Wichita, KS.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands and step daughter, Karen Day, who died February 3, 2011.
