Funeral services for Twyla Demaris (Dickman) Tefft, age 81 of Enid will be 10:00 am Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at the Ladusau-Evans Chapel with Pastor Dean Jones and Rev. Gail Edmison officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery under the kind direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 5:30 pm-7:00pm.

Twyla was born August 1, 1929 in Enid to Henry and Marjorie Krosch Dickman and passed away Saturday evening in the Commons Nursing Home. She attended Harrison and North Enid elementary schools and Kremlin High School where she was valedictorian of both her eighth grade and high school classes. Following high school graduation, she worked as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell for several years and as a cafeteria manager at Pioneer-Pleasant Vale Schools for 21 years. She married her high school sweetheart, LeRoy A. Tefft on June 18, 1948 in Enid. Twyla and LeRoy began married life in North Enid, where they raised four children Linda, Jean, Patti, and Scott. They moved to a homestead west of Enid in 1977. They attended Bethany United Methodist Church where Twyla served as a Sunday school teacher, youth director and president of UMW.

She is survived by her husband LeRoy of the home, three daughters Linda Crow and husband Robert of Glencoe, OK, Jean Brewer of Pond Creek, Patti Watkins and husband Danny of Carrier, Dr. Scott Tefft and wife Beth of Enid, a sister Avis Hobbs of Eunice, NM, a brother Ted Dickman of Pampa, TX, brother and sister-in-law and best friend LeRayne and Helen Tefft of Enid, 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson Eric Robert Crow, a son-in-law Dr. Leon Brewer, and a great grandchild Josie Kate Watkins.

Memorials may be made to Bethany United Methodist Church or Ross Health Care Hospice with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of the fund.
