A Celebration of Life Service for LeRoy A. Tefft age 86 of Enid will be 10:00 am Wednesday at Central Christian Church with Rev. Kim Giles officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Tuesday 6:30 to 7:30 pm at the funeral home.
LeRoy was born July 29, 1928 in Enid to Eugene and Lelia Black Tefft and passed away Saturday, July 4, 2015 in the St. Mary’s Regional Hospital. LeRoy grew up in North Enid and attended Kremlin High School graduating in 1946. Following graduation he began working for Bond Baking Co. as a bun machine operator. LeRoy married his high school sweetheart Twyla Dickman on June 18, 1948 in Enid and she passed away October 30, 2010. LeRoy and Twyla began married life in North Enid, where they raised four children, Linda, Jean, Patti, and Scott. They moved to a homestead west of Enid in 1977. In 1966, he began working for North Enid Schools as a custodian until retiring in 1987. They attended Bethany United Methodist Church, where he served in many areas. LeRoy was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching his kids and grandkids play sports. He loved his St. Louis Cardinals.
LeRoy is survived by his children, Linda Crow and husband Robert of Glencoe, OK, Jean Brewer of Pond Creek, Patti Watkins and husband Danny of Carrier, Dr. Scott Tefft and his wife Beth of Enid, 13 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and sister-in-law, Helen Tefft of Enid.
LeRoy and his children are very appreciative of his caregiver Carla Henigman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, twin brother LeRayne Tefft, grandson Eric Robert Crow, son-in-law Dr. Leon Brewer, and great grandchild Josie Kate Watkins.
Memorials may be made to Bethany United Methodist Church with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
