Funeral services for LeRayne E. Tefft, age 85 will be 10 a.m. Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Oakwood Christian Church with Rev’s Gail Edmison and Kim Giles officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Visitation will be 7-8:30 pm Friday April 4, 2014 at the funeral home.
LeRayne was born July 29, 1928 in Enid to Eugene and Lelia Black Tefft and passed away Monday, March 31, 2014 at The Commons Care Center. LeRayne grew up in North Enid and attended Kremlin High School graduating in 1946.
He married Helen Hardy on July 29, 1948 in Enid, OK. LeRayne started working for Bond Bakery while in high school and retired after 35 years. He later went to work for Garfield County as a grader operator for 7 years. He and Helen enjoyed farming and raising cattle. LeRayne was an active member of the Bethany United Methodist church where he served in many areas. LeRayne was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching his kids and grandkids play sports.
LeRayne is survived by his loving wife Helen of the home , his children Becky and Wayne Schoeling of Hunter, Eldon and Colette Tefft of Lamont, Kay and Wes Hurlbutt of North Enid, Gail and Steve Schovanec of Hunter, Jackie and Kevin Sumner of Bremerton, WA , 15 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren , his twin brother and best friend LeRoy Tefft of Enid.
He was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter Brooke Tefft.
Memorials may be made to Hospice Circle of Love or Bethany United Methodist Church with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of the funds.
