A Celebration of Life service for Helen Tefft age 88 of Enid will be 10 am Tuesday at the Ladusau-Evans Chapel with Rev. Jim Edmison and Rev. Gail Edmison officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery under direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00- 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
Helen was born October 3, 1929 in Enid, OK to Walter and Lucille Malter Hardy and passed away at her home early Friday, October 27, 2017. She grew up in the Kremlin community where she attended and graduated from Kremlin High School. She married LeRayne Tefft on July 29, 1948 in Enid, OK and he passed away March 31, 2014. She attended Enid Beauty College. She worked as a cook for the North Enid School and later Pioneer Pleasant Vale School and retired after several years. Helen was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church.
Helen and LeRayne enjoyed farming and raising cattle. Helen was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching her kids and grandkids play sports. She loved to cook and make pies. Helen was always available to listen and talk to her family.
Helen is survived by her children, Becky and Wayne Schoeling of Hunter, Eldon and Colette Tefft of Lamont, Kay and Wes Hurlbutt of North Enid, Gail and Steve Schovanec of Hunter, Jackie and Kevin Sumner of Bremerton, WA, 15 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and several other family members.
She was preceded in death by parents and granddaughter Brooke Tefft, sisters; Tola Jenkins, Frances Johnson, and Lee Wuerflein. Memorials may be made to Bethany United Methodist Church or Hospice Circle of Love with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of the funds.
