Phillip Tappan

February 24, 1933 — February 28, 2018

A Celebration of Life service for Phillip “Phil” L. Tappan age 85 of Enid will be at 11:00 am Monday, March 5, 2018 at Emmanuel Church Chapel with Rev. Wade Burleson officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Phil was born February 24, 1933 in Enid to Francis and Ethel Marie Parish Tappan and passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2018 in Greenbrier Skilled Nursing Center. He attended Enid High School. Phil worked for Champlin Refinery as a Coker Unit Operator and later for Airco Carbon retiring after several years.

Phil married Marlene Skouby on March 24, 1951 in Enid. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Sojourner Class, OCAW Union and North Enid Town Board. They loved to travel, camp, fish, and enjoyed coaching his kid’s sports.

Phil is survived by his wife Marlene, daughters; Karen and Richard Dodds, Teresa and Dennis Morse, grandchildren, Melanie, Amie, Derek, Diedra, and Christopher, six great grandchildren, a brother Dewey Tappan and wife Wanda, sister-in-law Frances Tappan and several other family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Paul Tappan, and brother Walter Tappan.
