Graveside service for Myrtle A. Sykora age 96 of Enid will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Alan Seibel officiating. Arrangements are under the direction Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Myrtle was born May 16, 1917 in Orlando, OK to Harry and Wilma Filtz Davis and passed away Wednesday evening in St. Mary’s Hospital. Myrtle grew up in the Orlando and Enid community. She married Paul Sykora in 1940 and he passed away on December 9, 1986.
Myrtle was a longtime member of Davis Park Christian Church.
Myrtle served as an RSVP volunteer for over 30 years, being selected as Volunteer of the Year in 1990. She donated over 30,000 hours of service to various community organizations including United Way, St Mary’s Hospital, Wheatheart Nutrition, Enid Chamber of Commerce, Enid Public Schools, Oklahoma Information Center, and the RSVP office. She coordinated the Enid Volunteer “Dream Team” for more than 10 years.
Myrtle is survived by her children, Ron Sykora of Houston, TX and Linda Knoll of Arlington Heights, IL, 2 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
