Charles S. Strom, age 88, of Enid, passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2015. Visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Graveside service and burial will be at the Lewis Cemetery in Ramona, Kansas on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Clark Davis officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Mr. Strom was born January 12, 1927, to Leonard and Ione Strom in Dwight, Kansas. Mr. Strom was employed by the Rock Island railroad for 30 years. He worked at various depots in Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas and Oklahoma. Mr. Strom is a U. S. Army veteran and served in the Philippines during World War II. He married Estelee Schneider, May 29, 1955 in Ramona, Kansas at Trinity Lutheran Church. He was a member of Redeemer Luther Church in Enid.He is survived by one son, Bradley Strom of Thornton, Colorado; one daughter, Landra Burgess of Melbourne Beach, Florida; one brother, Merwin Strom of Valley Center, Kansas; one sister, Genevieve Glessner of Junction City, Kansas, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Charles is preceded in death by his wife, his parents, one sister and one brother.
Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Ramona, Kansas, Redeemer Lutheran Church, Enid, Oklahoma or the Railroad Museum of Oklahoma in Enid, Oklahoma with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
