The graveside service for Gilmer Lee Straw, age 63, will be held Thursday, December 23, 2010 at 1:00 pm at the Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev Don Tines will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Gilmer was born July 31, 1947 in Enid, OK to Gilmer Roy and Anna K (Crane) Straw and died December 20, 2010 at his home. He graduated from Enid High School.
He served in the US Army. On November 12, 1972 he married Carolyn E Sims. He retired from Allen Oil Co after 43 years of service as a mechanic. He loved fishing and going to casinos. He also loved to cook. He never met a stranger.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn of the home; his children: Gilmer L Straw, Jr, Kristine E Straw Justin R Straw, Jerry D Williams and Shawna Scholten; 6 grandchildren and two great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; brother, Frank Straw and sister, Sharon Simmering.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
