A Celebration of Life Service for Monte Stotts age 61 of Enid will be 10:00 am Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church with Rev. Mark Mason and Rev. John Herrera officiating. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory. A Rosary will be held Monday evening at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home at 6:00 pm.
Monte was born August 2, 1962 in Fairview, OK to Everett and Ruth Ann (Cline) Stotts and passed away Thursday, January 18, 2024. He grew up in Seiling, OK where he attended and graduated from Seiling High School in 1980. He served as the manager for the Seiling Football team for 4 years. Monte was a member of the First Christian Church in Seiling. He attended Oklahoma State University and graduated with an Agriculture Econ Degree in 1984.
He went to work for Federal Land Bank in Clinton and for his parents at the Stotts Feed and Seed Store in Chester. He married Sherry Lodes on June 8, 1991 in Okarche, OK. He lived in Weatherford, OK and went to work for Kerr McGee driving a truck. He then went to work for Clifton Scott in the State Auditor Office for 5 years while he completed his accounting degree and received his CPA license. Monte received the Elijah Watts Sells Award to recognize outstanding performance on the CPA exam. He went to work for Campbell-Schaffer CPA firm for 2 years. Monte worked for Producers Cotton Gin, Shawnee Absentee Tribe, followed by 17 years at Atwoods Ranch and Home as the CFO. He joined the Catholic faith and was a member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church. He taught Religious Education, served as Eucharistic Minister, usher, and served on the Parrish Council. He coached EJRT football and YMCA baseball for his children. He was an EHS Football, Baseball, and Tennis Booster Club member. He enjoyed helping his parents on the family farm and working his own land with his tractor.
Monte is survived by his wife Sherry, 5 children; Ryan, Dillon, Taylor, Caitlyn, and Kenzie, a sister, Coweta and Jeff Donnell, brother LeRoy and Tammy Stotts, and sister Evelyn and Jack McAleney and several other family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
