A celebration of life for Aleta Stephens, 89, of Enid, will be 1:00p.m., Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Kenneth Wade officiating. Burial will follow in Garber Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Aleta (Chitwood) Stephens was born November 28, 1929 in Garber, Oklahoma to Kenneth and Martha Chitwood and passed away August 22, 2019 in Enid, Oklahoma. Aleta was baptized in Garber in 1932 at Immanuel Lutheran Church. She was a graduated of Garber High School and attended Phillips University for a brief time after. Aleta married Lloyd Stephens in 1949 and together they had two sons. She worked various jobs throughout her life and retired as a secretary at Enid State School.
Aleta enjoyed collecting antiques, dancing, spending time with her family, and cooking. She was a care taker and took good care of both of her parents prior to their passing. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church for many years.
Aleta is survived by her two sons, Mark Stephens, of Enid and Kirk Stephens and wife Susan, of Orlando, Florida; two grandchildren, Blake and Trevor; one great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Stephens; parents, Kenneth and Martha Chitwood; her sister, Sally Ann Chitwood.
