Irene Squires

Service for Irene Squires will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 3, 2012 at First United Methodist Church, Dr. Grayson Lucky officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery directed by Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday from 6:30 – 7:30 pm at the funeral home.

Irene died July 30, 2012 at her home in Enid. She was born in the family farm home north of Breckenridge on March 8, 1924, to Patrick J. and Georgia (Hartman) Bird. She attended Rural District 45 and Garber High School graduating with the class of 1941. She attended Oklahoma A&M. On April 8, 1944, she married William E. Squires at the family home near Breckenridge. She worked at Gold Spot Dairy. After the war, they moved to the farm where they made their home and farmed. During this time, she worked for the Social Service Division at Phillips University. Bill & Irene moved to Enid in 1995.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Friendship Sunday School class and was an associate member of the United Methodist Women.

She is survived by one daughter, Patricia Eubank, Edmond, two sons, Robert Squires & his wife Carli of Memphis, TN, David & his wife Nancy of Enid. Six grandchildren; Ryan Squires and wife Danielle, Josh Squires and wife Melanie, Jason Eubank and wife Meaghan, Gentry Squires and wife Michelle, Jana Wade and husband Josh and Wesley Squires, & twelve great-grandchildren. A sister Norma Brewster, Albuquerque, NM. One niece and one nephew.
