A Celebration of Life service for Lavatta Jo Sparks, age 65 of Enid will be 10 am Saturday at the Ladusau-Evans Chapel with Pastor Lyle Buller and Isaac Sanders officiating. Burial will follow in the Karoma Cemetery in Goltry under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Lavatta was born September 11, 1951 in Enid to Thurman and Betty Harman Sparks and passed away June 13, 2017 in the Greenbrier Nursing Home. She attended and graduated from Enid High School in 1969. She received her Bachelor of Science in Social Work from East Central University in Ada. Lavatta lived in McAlester where she taught the blind. She moved back to Enid where she worked for DHS teaching the blind. Lavatta attended Community Bible Church and Victory Bible Church. She was an avid swimmer at the YMCA.
Lavatta is survived by her mother Betty of Goltry, two sisters Larue Buller and husband Lyle of Enid, Rhonda Sanders and husband Vernon, Jr of Goltry and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Hospice Circle of Love with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of the funds.
