Susan Smith

A Celebration of Life for Susan Ilene Smith, 67, of Covington, OK will be Friday, September 9, 2016, 2:00 PM at the Douglas Christian Union Church with Rev. Robert Stewart officiating. Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Enid, OK. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 PM Thursday at the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home in Enid, OK. She was born July 25, 1949 in Enid, OK the daughter of Lloyd and Trudy Swiggart Gragert and passed away September 5, 2016.

Susan was a graduate of the Covington-Douglas High School in 1967 and then attended NOC at Tonkawa, OK. She was united in marriage to Joe Smith Sr. April 26, 1969 in Douglas, OK. Susan was employed by the George E. Failings Company and then later worked for the Yost Law Offices as a legal secretary in Perry, OK. She was a member of the Douglas Christian Union Church. She enjoyed watching nascar, needlework, caring for flowers and spending time with her family. She will be remembered as one who always had positive attitude and a smile on her face even when she didn’t feel well.

Survivors include her husband, Joe, two sons, Joe Smith Jr. and his wife, Christe of Lucien, OK, Kevin Smith and his wife Machelle of Lake Mills, WI, five grandchildren, Cole, Houston, Gabe, Gracyn and Gibson, a sister, Nancy Nelson of Douglas, OK and her parents, Lloyd and Trudy Gragert. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Jett Smith and a sister, Pamela Loesch and her husband Stanley.
