A Service of Remembrance and Celebration of Life for Raymond Glenn Smith, 76, of Enid, OK will be Monday, November 10, 2014 2:00 PM at the Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Beecher City, IL with Pastor Paul Baur officiating. Interment will follow in the Blue Point Cemetery in Shumway, IL. The family will receive friends at the Lockart-Green Funeral Home Sunday from 4 to 5 PM.
A visitation will be held in Hennessey, OK on Friday November 7, 2014 from 4 to 6PM at the Hennessey First United Methodist Church. Local arrangements are under the direction of the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home, Enid, OK.
Raymond was born August 8, 1938 in Beecher City, IL, the son of Ernest and Edna Nettles Smith and passed away November 1, 2014 in Oklahoma City, OK. He was a graduate of Beecher City High School in 1956. He was united in marriage to Doris Saegesser July 14, 1957 in Shumway, IL. He was employed by Humble Oil in St. Elmo, IL and then he was transferred to the Hennessey plant in 1967. Humble Oil later became Exxon-Mobil Oil Company. He traveled with his company to Carmi, IL, Healdton, OK where he retired in 1993. He was a member of CASA in Ardmore, OK. He will be remembered as a very happy-go-lucky person who never met a stranger.
Survivors include his wife, Doris, a daughter, Karen Vogt and her husband, Clif of Hennessey, OK. two sons, Jeffrey Smith and his wife Ellen of Enid and Eric Smith and his wife Rose of Hennessey, OK, nine grandchildren, Tim and wife Joy, Anthony, Danielle, Alan, Aaron, Preston, Juston and his wife Amy, Auston and Erica, eight great-grandchildren and a brother, Richard Smith of Mattoon, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one sister.
