A Service of Remembrance and Celebration of Life for Joyce Smith, 86, of Enid, will be Thursday, April 23, 2015, 10 AM at Your Family Church, 1301 N Independence, with Pastor Rick Dominic and Pastor Gary Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Enid Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 PM Wednesday at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Joyce was born July 31, 1928 the daughter of Jack and Lucy Jane Walsh” Jones” Foster and passed away April 19, 2015. She was a graduate of South San Antonio High School in 1945. She was united in marriage to Mabon “Smitty” Smith August 7, 1947 at the Base Chapel, Lackland Field, San Antonio, Texas and he preceded her in death in 2002. She retired from F W Woolworth in 1991 after 23 years of service. Joyce was a member of the Madison Ave. Baptist Church and currently a member of Your Family Church. She enjoyed doing her giant Bible word search and playing the piano. In 1945, she was voted in as The Yellow of Texas in the Stars and Stripes newspaper.
Survivors include three daughters, Gail Litton of Enid, Janie Carpenter and her husband Charlie of Lahoma, OK, Marilyn Shahan and her husband of Gate, OK, three son, Ronald Smith of Enid, Doug Smith and Juanita of Enid, Gary Smith and his wife Deanna of Fort Worth, TX, eleven grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Carol Bond, a brother Jack Foster Jr., a son-law, James Litton and two grandsons, Jason Bond and Jono Brisbois.
