Evelyn Marie Smith, 73, of Fairmont passed away early Friday morning September 24, 2010 at her home in Fairmont. Funeral Service will be 10:00 am Tuesday at the Zion Lutheran Church in Fairmont with the Pastor Tim Dorsch officiating. Burial will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery with services entrusted with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be given through the funeral home for Evelyn’s funeral expenses.
Evelyn was born July 24, 1937 in DeRedder, Louisiana to Herman C. and Edna Pearl Marshall Froemming. She graduated from Garber High School in 1957 and then attended Beauty College. She married Royce Z Smith in Oklahoma City. She worked first as a PBX Operator , then dispatcher, and retired as a warrant officer after 20 years with the Oklahoma City Police Department. She was a loving mother and lived for her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Karl Joseph Smith. She is survived by a daughter, Cynthia L. Smith of Fairmont; 3 grandchildren Cora, Castle, and Malachi; one sister, Lucille Bitz of Enid and nephew LeRay Bitz.
