Funeral services for Betty Smith age 86 of Enid will be 2 p.m. Friday, November 11, 2011 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church with Rev’s Kenneth Wade and Scott Whittenburg officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Betty was born July 21, 1925 in Billings, Missouri to Thomas and Maude Kerr Callaway and passed away Tuesday morning, November 8, 2011, in Greenbrier Nursing Home. She was raised in Hennessey, OK where she attended school and graduated in 1943.
On August 2, 1947 she married Lee Smith in Enid and were together for over 60 years. He passed away on July 13, 2007.
Betty worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone from 1943 to 1947. She became a devoted loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be greatly missed.
Betty was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
Betty is survived by her two daughters, Linda and husband Lowell Kroeker of Enid, LaDonna and husband Norville Ritter of Alva, son Larry Smith and wife Barbara of Enid, three grandchildren: Lisa Hamilton and husband Travis, Bradlee Kroeker and wife Krystal, and Lauren LaFon and husband Terry, seven great grandchildren: Hallee, Carson, and Collin Kroeker, Ethan and Kaitlyn Lipsett, and Tylan and Kaston Hamilton,.
She was preceded in death by 4 brothers Elvin, Bob, and Donald Callaway, Raymond Washam, a sister Retha Hutchins, and grandson Barry Smith.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran School or Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of the funds.
