Bernadine Smith

January 28, 1925 — March 11, 2010

The funeral service for Bernadine Mae Smith, 85 will be held Monday, March 15, 2010 at 10:00 am at the Oakwood Christian Church. Rev Eric Keller will officiate. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be a time of visitation with the family Sunday, from 5:30 to 6:30 pm at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Bernadine was born January 28, 1925 in Waldron, KS to Daniel Dorchester “Dorsey” and Lillie O. (Ford) Waggoner and died Thursday, March 11, 2010.

She was a school teacher for two years before she married Kenneth Vernon Smith on May 2, 1947 in Enid and was a partner with her husband in Smith Construction. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and a member of the Oakwood Christian Church.

Survivors include, her husband, Kenneth of the home, children; Kenneth V Smith Jr of Oklahoma City, Judy Ann Henderson, Sherrie Jane Smith Reed, Gayla Lynn Hopkins, Troy Don Smith, all of Enid, Verna Dean “Deanie” Jaggers of Thompson Station, TN and Terry Lee Smith of Johnstown, CO; 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; brother, Jack Waggoner of Newton, KS; sisters: Marie “Tiny” Weichring of Wichita, KS, Verla Armstrong of Anthony, KS and Maxine Phye of Harper, KS, Caroline “Corkie” Ferda of Bluff City, KS.

She is preceded in death by sisters Deb Waggoner, Rita Cruthers, and JoAnn Galusha, Mary Ray, Darline Waggoner, brothers Benny Waggoner, J. C. Waggoner, George Waggoner and Harold Waggoner.

Memorials may be made to the Oakwood Christian Church with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home as custodian of the funds.
