Funeral services for Norma Jean Simmering, 88, of Enid, will be Friday, November 2, 2012, 2:00 PM at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Garber, OK with Rev. Scott Ray officiating. Interment will follow in the Garber Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 PM on Thursday at The Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Norma was born September 21, 1924 in El Dorado, KS the daughter of Cecil and Dorothy Baker Eby and passed away October 29, 2012 at The Commons. She was united in marriage to Ira Lee Simmering October 26, 1942 in Garber, OK and he preceded her in death October 8, 2007. Mr. and Mrs. Simmering farmed for many years in the Garber community.
Norma was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Garber, the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, Sunday School teacher for over forty years, the Red Carpet Wood Carvers of Enid, the Texas Wood Carvers Guild and the Nu-Way club in Garber, OK.
Survivors include two daughters, Joyce VonDielingen of Garber, OK, Lynda Willhelm-Nelson of Hurst, TX, a son, Michael Simmering of Garber, OK, seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Erin, James, Dustin, Amy, Tina and Tisha, thirteen great-grandchildren and one great great grandchild. a sister, Mary Jo Williams of Oklahoma City, OK. Mrs. Simmering was also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Richard and Dusty.
