The graveside service for Mearl F Sibit, age 91 will be held Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at 10:00 am at the Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev Don Tines will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Mearl was born November 28, 1918 in Enid, OK to Albert and Jeanette Forst Sibit and died July 15, 2010 at his home.
He married Lois Welch on June 14, 1942 in Enid, OK. She preceded him in death February 27, 1978.
He served in the US Army in the 45th Rifle Infantry in 1941. He was a truck driver for Thurman Bridge & Block and retired in 1983. He was involved with Thunderbird Camping Club for many years.
Survivors include his son, Michael Sibit and wife Colleen of Enid, OK; 3 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Lois, two sons Mearlin and Gary; brother, Vearl Sibit and sister, Marie Smith.
