Frank Eldon Shrewsbury, (Eldon) family man, farmer, hunter and fisherman, accomplished stained glass man, and all around ornery guy, died September 14, 2016 at the age of 95. He lived a life that will be an example of joy and making the best of everything. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. The family is blessed to have many happy memories of his teasing and kindness.

Eldon was born to Clarence and Cassie (Barr) Shrewsbury on the family farm east of Nash, Oklahoma. He grew up there and continued to live there after his marriage to Mary (Olbert) Shrewsbury, in 1943. They raised their two sons, Jim and Bill, on the same farm and lived there until retirement in 1989. Eldon was active in the Nash community as a Lion member, Nash school board and longtime member of First Christian Church.

Eldon went to Oklahoma A & M collage for two years until WWII came about. He served as a medical technician in the United States Army from October of 1942 until the end of the war. He was discharged with a Silver Star and a Bronze Arrowhead and Bronze Star.

He is preceded in death by his parents, beloved wife of 67 years, Mary, and two great-grandchildren, Scarlett and Chloe Williams. A legacy of family is left behind: sons, Jim and Bill Shewsbury and daughter-in-law, Patsy; grandchildren Cory and Jodi Shrewsbury, Becky and Bobby Miller, Katy and Nakia Williams and Ben and Amber Shrewsbury; great grandchildren; Wyatt and Jaci Shrewsbury, Mia and Jake Miller, Katlyn and Garon and Halla Williams; and Liz and Dani Shrewsbury; sister Darlene and husband Albert Jantz, as well as many nieces and nephews, and a dear friend, Norma Roy.

Memorials in Eldon’s name may be made to the Nash Fire Department with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
